There are six things that the Lord hates, and one is lying (Proverbs 6:16). If children see parents who are honest in all their dealings—even if it is inconvenient—they will come to understand the importance of being honest.

Psalm 51:6 Surely You desire truth in the inner parts; You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Ephesians 4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
Today we will use music, movement and touch introducing each slowly and peacefully so that the children are comfortable with each addition and change.

Read Acts 5:1-11. Share the reasons behind Annais and Sappira's lie. Discuss how God sees and knows everything.
Read Jeremiah 28. Share how prophet Hananiah spread good news although it was untrue. Discuss that even little lies are not acceptable.

David Hewitt always told the truth. But there was one truth he did not know. Saturday was God’s Sabbath, not Sunday. God wanted David to know about the Sabbath truth. So God sent Joseph Bates to David’s town to tell David this truth. David believed Joseph, and he started to keep the Sabbath as God commanded. Because everyone in town knew David was so honest, he always told the truth, they believed, too. God’s church grew because of David’s honesty.
