Look around … what do you see? Lamp? chair? Pillow? Pictures? There are so many shapes around us and so many different uses for shapes … stop signs, directional signs, mileage signs, the best bakery in the world sign, McDonalds! a front door. All shapes that we recognize even before we read what is written or reach out to touch it. There are big shapes and little shapes, colorful shapes and not-so-colorful shapes! In this lesson we will be using our imaginations to explore shapes and how much God loves all his children, big and small.
Learning Objectives

Sign “Fun”. Make your fingers form the “hang loose” surfing sign. Move them up and down in front of you. Don’t forget to smile with your lips and eyes! Repetition helps make your baby feel safe and learning increases. Signing and say ‘it’s time for some fun’ at the beginning of your activity signals to your infants that play-time is about to begin.

Say ‘hello’ to each baby while smiling and looking into their eyes say: “Hello my little friend! It makes me happy to see you today!” Get close enough so that they see the joy on your face. Sing: Good Morning and tickle or snuggle each child with puppet. Give each baby a little felt Bible. “The Bible tells us that Jesus loves us sooo much! Sing: I Open My Bible Carefully and The Bible is for Me! As you put th!e Bibles in the basket or have the children put their Bible in the basket, immediately hand out the scarves … gently wave them as you hand them to the children. Sing: Jesus Loves Me! Wave the scarf back into the basket and hand out a little softie animal or My First Doll. Say: Jesus made so many shapes and colors … because he loves us so much! Thank you Jesus for all the pretty shapes! As the children are exploring their little softie set out the Rainbow sound Blocks. Say: Look at all these blocks! What shall we do with all our pretty blocks? As you build a small tower the children will probably knock it down and that is good! Clap your hands and sign “fun”. Yea! This is so much fun! Let’s do it again! As you play sing: All Kinds of Shapes. Give children time to exploring the different DIY shapes. Bring out the ‘diaper box’ and show them how to drop the ball into the box. (This activity helps your young children develop small muscle skills and eye/hand coordination. Have fun singing and talking as you describe each motion). Sing: Bounce and Roll. Sing: Play-time is Over while picking up the toys and waving Good-bye. Good bye little toys, Good bye soft carpet, Good bye my little friends! Thank you Jesus for my little friends! When all the toys are put away in the basket, hand out the little soft dolls to each child and keep one for yourself. Hug your doll and say: I love you my little friend! Jesus loves you too! Sing: My

Best Friend is Jesus. Hug and sway back and forth and you sing. Say: You are so special to Jesus! He loves you so much! You and you and you! Tickle your children gently under the chin then sing: You are Special My Friend. As you pick up the dolls say: Night night my little friends, night night.
